Empowering Students. Honoring Legacy.

The Leasha Twyman Taekwondo Initiative provides scholarships and financial assistance for every part of a student’s martial arts journey—covering tuition, tournaments, conferences, travel, and more.

Our Work

We believe Taekwondo should be accessible to all students—not limited by financial barriers. That’s why our support goes beyond tuition.

Through scholarships and assistance, we help cover:

  • Training tuition

  • Tournament entry fees and travel for competition opportunities

  • Conferences and seminars that deepen skills and knowledge

  • Other related expenses that allow students to fully engage in their martial arts journey

By supporting both training and experiences, we ensure students grow not only as martial artists but also as individuals shaped by discipline, respect, and community.

Our Story

The Leasha Twyman Taekwondo Initiative was created to honor the life and legacy of Leasha Twyman, a devoted student, instructor, and competitor.

Leasha began Taekwondo at age 8 and grew to love not only the art itself but also the community it built. She inspired others with her passion, perseverance, and dedication—both on and off the mat.

At 29, Leasha was diagnosed with cancer. She faced her battle with the same courage and determination she showed in training and competition. At 31, she returned to her Heavenly Father, but her spirit lives on through this Initiative.

Our mission is to provide scholarships and support for students to train, compete, attend seminars, and grow in the art that meant so much to Leasha.

Posthumously awarded her 4th Degree Black Belt by Grandmaster Brenda J. Sell and the United States Chung Do Kwan Association, Leasha’s legacy continues to inspire future generations of martial artists.

The Legacy Gifts of Leasha Twyman

Her life reflected these values—simple commitments that still lead us forward.

Be Present

Live Life to the Fullest

Pursue purpose, stay curious, and engage opportunities that create impact. Every day offers the chance to do meaningful good.

It’s Okay to NOT Be Okay

No one has to carry hard moments alone. Asking for help is healthy, and support makes us stronger as a community.

Be Genuine in Your Conversations
